While we could all do with a hand around the house, you're either going to love or hate spring's new marmite interiors trend.

This fun new look for the home sees a raft of designers - both household and emerging stars — get their hands on everything. And we're hooked.

These Handjobs coat hooks are by Cambridge-based design duo Yve Thelermont and David Hupton.

Modelled on Thelermont's own hand, their products were radical and a bit rude when first launched in Milan in 2004.

There are eight gestures in eight colours — this one’s Thumbs Up in pink — handmade in England.

Other colours include dramatic black, glitzy gold, chaste white and jaunty red; from £95-£130 (thelermonthupton.com). Also at Indish, 16 Broadway Parade, N8 (020 8340 1188; indish.co.uk).

For a calming touch, the Om Mudra chair is based on an ancient yoga hand pose, symbol of tranquillity. It's cast in metal with a powder-coated brass finish. Priced £450 from Rockett St George.

Or why not try this fortune-telling Lifeline wallpaper by London Art? It's waterproof so fine for bathrooms, and costs £82 a square metre from Chaplins.

If dinner guests are getting on your wick, you could always drop an unsubtle hunt with a novelty Middle Finger Candle. They are unperfumed and will burn for up to 12 hours. Priced £19.99 each from The Fowndry.

While some interiors looks aren't built to stay the course, others — marble, we're looking at you — stick around for years.

Either way, incorporating this quirky trend into your home will certainly be a conversation starter.
