Liverpool 3-1 Arsenal LIVE!

Premier League champions Liverpool maintained their perfect start to the season and ended Arsenal's unbeaten run as they came from behind to win 3-1 at Anfield.

Liverpool dominated the opening exchanges, but Alexandre Lacazette gave Arsenal the lead against the run of play following an Andy Robertson mistake.

However, Arsenal's advantage was short-lived: Sadio Mane equalised from close range, before Trent Alexander-Arnold set up Robertson to make amends and send Liverpool into half-time 2-1 ahead.

The match was delicately poised with Alisson Becker making a big save from Lacazette to deny Arsenal an equaliser - and Diogo Jota came off the bench to score on his Liverpool debut to seal a 3-1 win.

Here we go!

The players are getting ready to walk out onto the pitch at Anfield.

No fans at the ground again, of course, but the place still gives off an incredible atmosphere. Arsenal haven't won here since 2012 but they are arguably in their best shape since then to end that winless run.

Since January 2015, Arsenal are without a win in 27 games against the Premier League's 'big six', losing 17 and drawing 10.

You get the feeling if Arsenal are to rejoin the elite in the Premier League they will need to resolve this problem.

Mikel Arteta speaks to Sky Sports before the game:

"Never give up, that is crucial against them and you have to expect them to be at their best. If you are always expecting that then the level of attention is higher, the focus is higher and then you are more determined in every ball. Against them that is key.  "I don't see any complacency [in Liverpool's players]. They go to any ground, even when they are 2-0 up, 3-0 up, 4-0 up, and they still go in the same way. "This is an incredible credit to the coaching team, the culture they have created and the spirit of that team. You can see that in the 24 or 26 players they have in the squad."

The sight of Mohamed Salah in the Liverpool line-up would scare most teams and Arsenal are no different.

Photo: ReutersThe Egyptian has scored five goals and registered two assists in his last six games against the north London side.

In his bid to reclaim the Premier League Golden Boot, the 28-year-old will be itching to get on the scoresheet tonight.

Simon Collings will be analysing Arsenal for us tonight and he believes one player in particular could stand out for the Gunners...

"Feels like the sort of game where Arsenal should see the value of Willian. So experienced and used to these big games."

Auba ready for Reds test

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has already scored against Liverpool this season in the Community Shield.

Photo: ReutersBut the Gabonese knows this is the fixture that really matters in terms of assessing whether Arsenal are ready to challenge for the top four again.

"Even if it is maybe early in the season, it is still a big game," he told the club's official website.

"We are going to see if we are ready to compete. We have started well so we just have to play hard."

Something's got to give

This is the first real test for Arsenal as they take on the champions Liverpool at Anfield.

Arteta's men impressed with their stylish brand of football in the 3-0 win over Fulham and showed their ability to grind out wins even when they aren't playing their best football against West Ham. But there can be no let-up tonight from the Gunners if they are to pull off a shock victory on Merseyside tonight.

Liverpool haven't lost at home in the league since a 2-1 loss against Crystal Palace three-and-a-half years ago and even without their passionate supporters, Klopp's men have found a way to maintain their invincibility.

But with both teams bringing 100 per cent records into this game, at least one will come away feeling a little less confident.

Maitland-Niles, Elneny get surprise calls

Mikel Arteta has named a surprise starting XI to face Liverpool, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Mohamed Elneny both included in the 3-4-3 formation.

Dani Ceballos and Bukayo Saka are named amongst the substitutes along with new signing Runar Alex Runarsson, a £1.5m signing from Dijon.

Defender Kieran Tierney is back to full fitness after missing the 2-1 win over West Ham and replaces Sead Kolasinac at the three-man defence. Brazilian centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes is only on the bench tonight.

Alisson STARTS, Thiago OUT

Liverpool have been boosted by the news that Alisson Becker has been passed fit to start tonight's match at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp has made one change to the team that beat Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge last time out, bringing on Joe Gomez for the injured Jordan Henderson.

That change means Fabinho will slot back into his more natural central midfield position alongside Georginio Wijnaldum and Naby Keita.

Thiago Alcantara does not make the squad due to a minor fitness issue.
