Barcelona began their 2020-21 LaLiga campaign with a comfortable victory against Villarreal at Camp Nou on Sunday evening.

Ansu Fati notched a brace in Ronald Koeman's first league game in charge, while Lionel Messi also netted from the penalty spot against Unai Emery's side.

Pau Torres later scored an own goal as Barcelona made a strong start to their bid to regain the title they lost to Real Madrid last term.

Prediction: Barcelona 1-0 Villarreal

Though Barcelona have endured a turbulent summer after a difficult end to last season, it's difficult to look past a home win.

Indeed, there may still be unrest within the squad, with Messi publicly criticising the club for "throwing" Luis Suarez out and into the hands of rivals Atletico Madrid.

However, with Messi still in the team - and Koeman looking for his first Barca win - I'm expecting a narrow home win.

Barca begin life without Luis Suarez

Barcelona play their first official game tonight since the sale of Luis Suarez to Atletico Madrid last Friday, for a deal which will bring the Catalan club just €6 million in variables (at the most).

Suarez scored 198 goals for Barca in his six seasons at Camp Nou and came off the bench to net twice for Atletico in a 6-1 win over Granada earlier on Sunday.

Since Ronald Koeman arrived last month, Barca have beaten Nastic Tarragona, Girona and Elche in their warm-up matches under the Dutch coach.

The Blaugrana beat Nastic and Girona 3-1 apiece, before a 1-0 victory over promoted club Elche in the Gamper Trophy at Camp Nou last weekend.

Coutinho and Fati included in Koeman's first official line-up

Ronald Koeman takes charge of Barcelona tonight for the first time in an official match and the Dutch coach has picked Philippe Coutinho, Ansu Fati and Lionel Messi behind Antoine Griezmann in attack.

Coutinho is back at Barca for a second spell after spending last season on loan at Bayern Munich and winning the treble with the German side. He also featured - and scored twice - in the 8-2 quarter-final win over Barca.
