One of Belgravia’s tallest homes is for sale. The seven-floor townhouse in Wilton Place is on the market for £14 million with Harrods Estates.

The house neighbours The Berkeley and its new, über-modern glass-and-steel bar extension. The hotel is an enduring favourite with the rich and famous — singer Mariah Carey and Hollywood’s Penélope Cruz were recent guests.

The townhouse, a peaceful retreat, was built in 1825 and is a striking piece of architecture covering 4,243sq ft. The stunning interior includes a first-floor drawing room that opens to a charming terrace with dark wooden decking and white linen furniture (pictures below).

Wilton Square residents have included Margaret Thatcher, and football bosses Jose Mourinho and Sven-Göran Eriksson. Elizabeth Street, Motcomb Street and West Halkin Street are close by for luxurious shopping and dining.
