A number of key fitness concerns have cropped up at a bad time for Manchester City.

Both Phil Foden and Ruben Dias sat out last weekend’s win over Nottingham Forest due to illness, a game which saw Ederson substituted after a blow to his shoulder.

The Brazilian goalkeeper is an injury doubt for the upcoming clash with Wolves as the run-in continues to intensify.

Pep Guardiola will appear before the media on Friday to update fans on their status.

Here is your latest update of Man City injury news and return dates...

Phil Foden

Foden did initially make the trip to Forest, but was sent back ahead of the game having not recovered from illness in time to be named in the matchday squad.

"He's not ready. He's ill,” Guardiola said. “He didn't feel good, discomfort today and he's back to Manchester.

“It is what it is. It's a long season - they always happen these kind of things - and another one is going to play."

A full week to prepare for the Wolves game should stand Foden in good stead to return to the line-up.

Ederson

It has been a stop-start run-in for Ederson, who missed a handful of games after injuring himself while giving a penalty away to Liverpool and then was sidelined following a collision with Willy Boly at the City Ground.

Stefan Ortega came on and Ederson was later spotted leaving the City Ground with his arm in a sling. Guardiola offered a pessimistic update when quizzed about the issue after the game.

“It doesn't look good. We see tomorrow with the doctor,” the City boss said.

However, reports now label him as simply a doubt for the Wolves game with increasing optimism he’ll at least be ready to face Fulham the week after.

Ruben Dias

Foden was not the only City player to miss the meeting with Forest due to illness, with Portuguese centre-back Dias also ruled out completely.

He was also left as an unused substitute for the previous Thursday night’s thumping win at Brighton, though should be in contention to return against Wolves along with Foden.
