Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba has a hamstring injury and could be a doubt for this month's Clasico clash against Real Madrid.

Alba asked to be substituted with 15 minutes left of Barca's 1-1 draw at home to Sevilla on Sunday and was replaced by debutant Sergino Dest.

"The tests carried out this morning have confirmed that Jordi Alba has a muscle injury in the hamstrings of his right leg," Barca said in a statement on their website on Monday.

"He is unavailable for selection until otherwise noted, and the evolution of the injury will condition the player's availability."

The 31-year-old defender was not called up for Spain by former Barca coach Luis Enrique and can now focus on his recovery during the international break.

Barca are back in action away to Getafe on October 18, before the Clasico clash at home to Real Madrid the following weekend, with the left-back now doubtful for both of those matches.
