New homes in Bracknell: game-changing luxury apartments launch in fast-growing Berkshire tech hub

Potential is a watch word for house hunters and property investors looking to the future. And anyone with an eye for bright horizons should look no further than Bracknell town centre.

Sitting in the heart of the UK’s Silicon Valley, within easy reach of London, property in the town is nonetheless set at a significantly lower price point than its neighbours.

The average price of a property in Bracknell is £436,000 according to Land Registry figures, while in nearby Ascot they are almost double that, at £827,000.

And yet, unlike many of its quaint, better established neighbours, Bracknell house prices offer scope for significant growth – having already risen by 83 per cent in the past decade.

Combined with predicted population growth of as much as 15 per cent over the next 17 years, increasing demand for homes in the area, this offers the prospect of healthy rental yields for landlords.

And Bracknell is already a popular place to live – both for commuters taking advantage of the fast, direct train links to London and Reading and for local workers employed in the booming digital economy.

The Bracknell-Reading axis is the second biggest tech hub in Britain, after London, with a tech economy estimated at well over £10 billion and employing 40,000 people.

Thanks to a massive investment of over £768 million, the town’s appeal as a place to live and work in its own right is growing – and is set to grow further.

Bracknell town centre has already had a £240 million re-build, welcoming a plethora of shops, bars and restaurants where locals can socialise after work, without having to travel out of town.

A further £30 million was recently announced to transform Princess Square and The Deck, the areas neighbouring the Lexicon.

A £2.6 million revamp of the Horseshoe Lake country park will boost the town’s leisure appeal even further.

It’s little wonder that people are being drawn to Bracknell in ever higher numbers, and yet there are currently very few homes in the town centre built with urban living in mind and to the standards and specifications urban professionals expect from homes in London or, closer to home, Reading, Windsor or Ascot.

This is set to change, however, with the launch of The Grand Exchange, a new development in the former bus depot in the heart of town.
