New three-bedroom townhouses moments from the new Woolwich Crossrail station are among the cheapest in inner London.

The homes at Trinity Walk cost from £590,000 and are a short walk from the Royal Arsenal Riverside complex.

They have contemporary-style architecture and an open-plan ground floor leading to a two-level terrace.

There is also a designated parking space at the front of the house. Call Lovell Homes on 020 3131 8511.

Woolwich has been up-and-coming for over 10 years but most of the area is still relatively affordable because it started from a such a low base.

The exception is the former armaments factory, where waterfront penthouses have broken the £1 million barrier, according to posh estate agent Knight Frank, which recently opened a branch there.

Flats in The Officers' House, a listed heritage building at Royal Arsenal Riverside, cost from £410,000 for a studio. Call Berkeley Homes on 020 8108 7155.
