Insurance giant Legal & General has unveiled plans to become one of the country’s biggest housebuilders.

Already the company has 3,500 homes in the pipeline across 41 schemes, and claims to be the UK’s first property firm to embed the principle of “social value” in its developments.

Finchwood Park in Berkshire is its flagship project, a new 1,500-home garden village where residents’ health and wellbeing are a priority.

It has 140 acres of green space, a primary school, community allotments, playing fields, a church and neighbourhood centre.

Homes are designed to suit all life stages, from first-time buyers to young families to elderly downsizers, meaning there are multiple house styles and apartment layouts.

Four miles from Wokingham, the homes sit at the top of Fleet Hill and are close to several country parks.

Prices start at £325,000 for a two-bedroom house to £675,000 for a four-bedroom detached house. Call 0343 2538572.
