Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was raped in a park in south-east London.

The attack took place in Forster Memorial Park near Prendergast School in Lewisham at about 7pm on Friday, September 18, police said.

The woman, who is in her early 20s, is being supported by specialist officers.

Officers believe the attacker and the victim knew each other before the rape.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the attack and has since been released on bail.

Detective Constable Vincent CS Chan, from the Met Police's south east command unit, said: “We’re particularly keen to speak to a cyclist who may have witnessed the attack.

"We believe they could have vital information about what happened.”
