Four Dutch football thugs who attacked police officers when violence erupted between Tottenham and Ajax fans after a Champions League match in London have been jailed.

They were arrested after clashes between fans near the Spurs’s new stadium, in Tottenham, following the first leg of the semi-finals in April.

The defendants — and other supporters of the Amsterdam team — broke up the pavement and threw slabs at rivals and officers.

Footage of the incident showed both sides throwing glass bottles, bricks and concrete slabs. Three police officers were assaulted, and one was punched in the back of the head.

The Ajax supporters, Marvin Kerkhof, 29, Stefan Tromp, 34, Fahd Amri, 23, and Boy Fuchs, 28, all from Amsterdam, were each jailed for 20 weeks on Tuesday at Wood Green crown court after admitting affray. Fuchs was also jailed for an extra eight weeks on a charge of assaulting an emergency worker.

More than 11 million people watched last week’s Uefa Champions League final between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. BT Sport, which broadcast the clash said the total was made up of 6.5 million TV viewers and 4.8 million who saw it on digital devices.
