Taylor Swift has come out on top in a lawsuit against a US property firm.

A New York judge sided with the 29-year-old singer after a broker from estate agents Douglas Elliman claimed she owed £757,000 in commission following her purchase of a £13.6 million New York townhouse in 2017.

However, the agent was unable to produce sufficient evidence of a formal agreement and the judge ruled that an email from an employee to the Shake It Off singer’s representatives didn’t prove she had agreed to the fees.

Swift’s company Firefly Entertainment claimed the agent had only arranged one viewing and provided basic information about the property before failing to contact her again.

The star bought the Tribeca townhouse around nine months later through another agent.

It has a gym, cinema, an outdoor terrace and a guest suite with a separate entrance.
