If walls could talk: Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne's former home in Amersham for sale for £3.95m

The Osbournes aren't the only famous faces to have called the Bucks mansion home. Matinée ideal Dirk Bogarde and TV host Robert Kilroy-Silk are counted among previous owners.

Sharon Osbourne admits she was rather glad to see the back of the Georgian mansion that she once shared with rocker husband Ozzy in Amersham, Buckinghamshire.

In her autobiography, the X Factor judge recalls how the pair were living in the Grade II-listed house in 1989 when the “Prince of Darkness”, then addicted to drink and drugs, tried to strangle her. He later went into rehab.

The seven-bedroom house in extensive gardens, with a pool and spa complex, is now back on the market for £3.95 million with Knight Frank.

The Osbournes aren’t the only celebs to have owned the property. Matinée idol Dirk Bogarde, movie director Basil Dearden and composer Matt Aitken were all previous owners.

But it was TV host Robert Kilroy-Silk who got the best deal. He sold the house for £6.5 million in 2014. The much lower current asking price indicates the refurbishment that is needed to bring the property back up to scratch.
