Noël Coward’s Blithe Spirit house for sale: home from original screenplay hits the market as filming continues on Judi Dench remake

If you plan to hold a seance any time soon, the house that starred in the original 1945 film adaption of Noël Coward’s play Blithe Spirit, with Rex Harrison as haunted novelist Charles Condomine, is for sale.

Denham Mount comes to the market with filming under way on a remake for release next February, starring Judi Dench as eccentric medium Madame Arcati and Dan Stevens as Condomine.

The Grade II-listed Georgian villa is on the market at £6.5 million with Strutt & Parker. The striking drawing room leads out to the blossom-draped veranda which featured in the first film.

In the grounds are four cottages, a coach house, a cart shed, garage and tennis court.

Trains from nearby Gerrards Cross reach Marylebone in 20 minutes.
