Prominent publisher Tom Maschler, who has retired to Vaucluse, France, is selling his Kensington apartment.

Maschler, married to Evening Standard food critic Fay Maschler until 1989, helped set up the Booker Prize in the Sixties. He launched some of Britain’s most successful writers including Ian McEwan, whose novel The Children Act is currently in cinemas starring Emma Thompson.

His flat in Oakwood Court, on the edge of Holland Park. is listed at £3.2 million with John D Wood & Co.
