James Blunt’s childhood home is for sale.

The pop singer’s father, Colonel Charles Blount, inherited Cley Windmill in Norfolk and converted it into a B&B in 1966.

When James wasn’t roughing it at Harrow boarding school it made for a rather magical home retreat.

The Grade II-listed Georgian building is one of the area’s most photographed and painted landmarks.

The Blount family (James has dropped the posh spelling) sold it several years ago but it is still a guesthouse with 11 bedrooms and a restaurant.

The mill tower sits under a white-painted “beehive” timber cap and rises five storeys.

It overlooks an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is on Strutt & Parker’s books, price on application.
