Fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are selling their stunning villa below an active volcano on the Italian island of Stromboli.

The couple bought the clifftop home in the Nineties as a summer retreat.

The tiny island has a helipad used by the pair’s A-list party guests, including supermodel Naomi Campbell.

Spread over three buildings typical of the style found in the islands off Sicily’s north-east coast, the seven-bedroom home is surrounded by terraces and gardens and features one-off pieces of furniture, hand-painted majolica tiles and Dolce & Gabbana fabrics patterned with fruit and flowers.

The volcano has been erupting almost continuously since the Thirties.

An Italian hiker died this month when two particularly powerful blasts rocked the island.

The brand's offices are based in Italy but Stefano Gabbana also bought a £15 million house in Primrose Hill in 2014 following a bidding war with Sam and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
