A little Robert De Niro star quality rubbed off on the South Bank when the film giant reportedly snapped up a flat in 2001 at The Jam Factory, a converted Hartley’s plant, for £750,000.

Hollywood coming to Southwark caused quite a stir and gave the district the trendy Tribeca touch — New York’s trendy Tribeca district is where the star of The Godfather: Part II bought commercial and residential properties.

The two-bedroom loft apartment in SE1 certainly has celeb appeal.

It’s all about open plan, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a contemporary-design staircase leading to the private landscaped roof garden via an electronically controlled skylight.

Measuring approximately 1,300sq ft the outdoor terrace has 360-degree views taking in St Paul’s Cathedral, the London Eye, the Shard, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf.
