From beachside properties to Beverly Hills mansions, it’s been a busy year for celebrities on the move in Hollywood and closer to home – with many A-listers selling up, downsizing or buying new homes in 2019.

Some truly spectacular houses have changed hands over the past year and we’ve been given a rare chance to have a snoop inside some seriously luxe homes.

From Britney Spears’ former mansion to Reese Witherspoon’s new Malibu ranch, celebs have had their hands full swapping, selling and buying property.

In recent news, singer Kelly Clarkson put her waterside home near Nashville on the market for £5.6m. The presenter and talk show host's Tennessee lake house is spread over four acres with wonderful water views.

And former New Girl star Zooey Deschanel listed her Manhattan Beach house for sale earlier this month.

Featuring quirky details such as 'I love you' tiles, the kooky home is decked out in a Cape Cod theme, while the kitchen and front garden have been recently made over.

Earlier this year, a truly fabulous Beverly Hills mansion that once belonged to Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston also came up for sale.

The Hollywood heartthrob and Friends star broke up in 2005, but during their time living in the mansion they made many changes – and there’s now a luxury pool, cinema room and separate guest loft for prospective owners.

Meanwhile, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones made a huge saving of £13 million when they swapped their New York home for one on the outskirts of the city in September. And that’s not the only property that changed hands for the couple this year.

The Oscar-winning actor also came close to halving the price of his Majorcan estate, which he bought in 1990, and even provided the voiceover for a promo video to try to get it to sell.

The luxury property includes five flats, two cottages and 12 bedrooms close to the picturesque villages of Valldemossa and Deià.

More interested in stars of the small screen? The Kennedy house from Neighbours came onto the market in Melbourne for the first time in 41 years.

The iconic property has featured in the Aussie soap since it first aired in 1985 and has been in the same ownership since 1978.

Literature fans will love the Chelsea house that Mary Poppins author PL Travers once called home, as well as the Kensington property that inspired owner JM Barrie to write Peter Pan, both of which went up for sale this year.

Barrie's former home even comes with a top-floor balcony window that’s ideal for children hoping for a visit from Peter himself.
