Blur bass player Alex James lived in this Grade II-listed converted warehouse in Covent Garden long before moving to his 200-acre Cotswolds mansion to become a master cheesemaker and festival host.

Remodelled by acclaimed architect Sir Terry Farrell, the warehouse is now on the market for £3.5 million with Tavistock Bow.

It is also available to rent at £1,650 a week.

Spread over five floors, it includes a top-floor master bedroom and a balcony overlooking Ching Court.

“The London house is close to Neal’s Yard Dairy, within sniffing distance of the famous cheese shop,” says selling agent Jamie Read.

“Perhaps that’s where Alex discovered his love of cheese.”
