A former Bayswater hostel where rooms cost from £10 a night has been turned into a luxury apartment block where penthouses start at £4 million.

The rags-to-riches address, now rebranded as Bayswater Apartments, has been completely transformed by developers MHA London.

Moments from Hyde Park, the boutique block links two stucco-fronted Grade II-listed buildings and are home to 10 very fancy flats. In its former guise the hostel had 300 beds.

The pièce de résistance of the revamp is a three-bedroom 1,872 sq ft duplex with a master suite which wouldn’t look out of place in a five-star hotel.

On Inverness Terrace, the grand flats come with a daytime concierge service.

With Sophie Conran among neighbours, it is only fitting that style was at the forefront of this impressive project, listed with Kay & Co and Knight Frank.
