Biden Beauty launches with all proceeds going towards the Democratic nominee

Now that we’re weeks away from the 2020 presidential election, you’ve probably gotten used to seeing campaign merchandise in the form of stickers, buttons and even the occasional sweatshirt. What you probably didn’t see coming (neither did we, to be honest) was a beauty brand dedicated to Democratic nominee, Joe Biden.

Appropriately called Biden Beauty, the brand popped up on social media on September 30, and it drew a lot of attention in the process. While Biden Beauty is not officially part of Joe and his vice presidential running mate Kamala Harris’ campaign, they’re reported as having given the brand their approval.

Using the slogan, “Beat your face, beat Trump,” Biden Beauty still offers all of the typical campaign merchandise. But their star product is one we’ve certainly never seen being used to help win an election - a makeup sponge.

The Biden Beat Makeup Sponge is priced at $20.20, and is similar to your average beauty sponge but with a political twist. The sponge is in a Democratic Party blue color, and more importantly, all of the proceeds from its sales (and the sales of Biden Beauty’s sweatshirts, totes, pins and stickers) benefit the Biden Victory Fund.

The creator of Biden Beauty is still a mystery, but the brand has made its intentions clear on its FAQs page. “Biden Beauty’s goal is to inspire Gen Z to Boomers to get out the vote,” they explained.

“Inspired by Joe Biden’s own natural beauty, the brand hopes to show Americans that you are beautiful, powerful – and vital. Biden Beauty hopes to spread the message that American is and always has been beautiful, but to maintain this message, America needs to vote, and vote blue.”

Biden Beauty, which currently only ships within the US, has also dedicated a section of its site to helping citizens register to vote and create a voting plan for election day.

And while more Biden Beauty products are said to be on the way, we’re kind of hoping the next Joe-inspired launch is an ice cream flavor (the man does love his Jeni’s Ice Cream, after all).
