Arsenal Women forward Vivianne Miedema has been voted the Fans’ Player of the Year in the Women's Super League (WSL).

Miedema shone last season, which was curtailed in June due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and even finished a game back in December with six goals and four assists.

And the Dutch forward has now topped off her fine campaign by being voted the Fans’ Player of the Year.

Miedema received the WSL PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans’ Player of the Year prize after winning a vote run by fan engagement experts, Snack Media.

The 24-year-old faced strong competition for the award from Chelsea trio Bethany England, Guro Reiten and Sophie Ingle, as well as Chloe Kelly of Everton and Manchester City’s Ellie Roebuck.

Miedema, however, pipped them all to win the award which, along with monthly awards in women's football, has been introduced for the first time this season.
