Designer Orla Kiely is the queen of prints so it's no wonder her Clapham Common home is a riot of pattern and colour.

Black-and-white daisy tiles spiral across the floor and up the step to the balcony and Kiely's husband, Dermott’s, mini garden.

Kiely is deeply influenced by her love of mid-century design, as manifested in the furnishings of the flat.

The rear wall of the open-plan kitchen is covered in even larger flower-print tiles in a chalky white, grey and lime-yellow. The same tiles cover all but the ceiling of the bathroom.

The finished effect is of organised maximalism, the colour palette is bright but contained while the patterned elements are mostly monochrome.

Luckily it couldn't be easier to inject some Swinging Sixties magic into your own home. Kiely is well-known for her numerous high street collaborations.

From her iconic stem print, which comes in multiple colourways, to mid-century-inspired coloured flowers, the bright and bold prints are ideal for adding panache to a room — even if you're on a budget.
