1. Art in Clay

16-18 August at Hatfield House, Hatfield, AL9 5NQ

There were cracks in the world of ceramics when the long-standing organisers of this annual pot-fest stepped down.

To the rescue (and so appropriate): UK’s Valentine Clays, with much respected Hannah Ault as show director. And it, too, is a bumper 25th anniversary edition, held as ever outdoors and in marquees.

Find over 200 exhibitors from all over the world, plus loads of talks and demos. Pot-it-yourself in a “clay creation zone.”

Visitors love the artistry, professionalism, informality, and all-round fab fun.

Prices range from £10 for a mug up to £10,000s for unique sculptures by world class artists. Clay College’s “educational zone” includes demos and technical sessions.

Then relax with woodfired pizzas, posh patties, toasties, coffee and crepes, cream teas, Pims, Prosecco and craft beers.
