Packing this splendid old palace and overflowing into its huge courtyard are exhibits from 40 countries and cities on six continents, all dealing with Emotional States — how design touches our feelings.

There’s a huge number of ideas and concepts — design buffs will adore this — so allow plenty of time.

Here you’ll discover a pavilion built specially to house new ideas upstairs from 40 design brands, along with a restaurant.

Downstairs, with a cocktail bar, are 60 shops selling trendy stuff for the home, plus “tech accessories”, bags, jewellery and watches.

Your ticket also gets you into the nearby Bargehouse gallery at Oxo Tower Wharf over four floors, with immersive installations and a strong talks programme for design addicts.

Head Above Water: Steuart Padwick's installation on the Southbank is designed to highlight mental health 

Free on the riverbank, see drones building Mud Shell emergency shelters, plus a giant illuminated wooden head.

100% Design

This huge show, first staged in 1995, covers furniture, lighting, kitchens, bathrooms, building materials and more.

It’s mainly trade only, for architects, designers, retailers and the like, but everyone is welcome on Saturday, September 22.

London Design Fair

This global trade show, part of the festival, has 13 country pavilions — the guest country is Japan— plus the popular British Craft Pavilion.
