Entries for London Home Design Awards 2018 have now closed.

The bedroom should be a sanctuary where we allow ourselves the luxury of a peaceful and supremely comfortable space to wind down in after a hectic day.

Choosing the right mattress and bed frame is key to getting a good night's sleep, but this room often has to incorporate our wardrobes, dressing tables and shoe storage, all without looking cluttered.

Have you swapped hanging space for a hidden shoe rack? Or did choosing a divan bed mean you could banish bulky wardrobes and make room for a statement chair?

We want to recognise the hours, weeks and months you spent getting your bedroom space right for you and share your creative ideas to inspire millions of others.

So we’ve teamed up with home renovation and design platform Houzz to launch the first ever London Home Design Awards, and we're asking London's renters and home owners to send us their best makeover projects.

To enter the bedroom category, sponsored by Hästens and guest judged by the founder of Mr & Mrs Smith hotels Tamara Lohan, simply upload at least one image of your completed makeover or bedroom decorating project.

Entries close at 12pm on June 8 2018. See Official Rules here.

HERE'S WHAT YOU COULD WIN

One winner per category will be picked by our expert panel and guest judge to win a £500 Houzz Shop voucher to spend on Bang & Olufsen products and a £250 voucher to spend on Tom Dixon products, also in the Houzz Shop. Plus, we'll be sending the winners to a lamp-making workshop at The Factory in Tom Dixon's new flagship store, worth £250.

WE WILL MAKE YOUR HOME THE STAR

Each of the winning projects will be featured on Houzz and in the Evening Standard's Homes & Property section on Wednesday 4 July.

Share your entry on Instagram using #homedesignawards for a chance to be featured on @houzzuk and @eshomesproperty.

CREATING A BEDROOM THAT TICKS ALL THE BOXES

Fitted wardrobes and window seats are two of the most searched terms related to bedrooms on Houzz, showing how built-in storage can help bedrooms become serene, well-ordered spaces.

And, as more of us holiday more frequently, we seek to add a little bit of luxury inspired by the new generation of boutique hotels, with walk-in wardrobe and master bedroom also popular searches.

"We believe the bedroom is the most important room in the house," says Sanja Tegeltija of category sponsor Hästens. "Done well, a bedroom can become a sanctuary – the one place we can go to reboot, the place that allows us the rest we need to attack tomorrow with vigour."

MEET THE JUDGES

We will be in touch with all shortlisted entrants to request more details to pass on to our judging panel, which includes the editors of Homes & Property and Houzz, Janice Morley and Victoria Harrison; design journalist Barbara Chandler, The Great Interior Design Challenge judge Daniel Hopwood, Richard MacRae of architecture design studio EDRM.

Our guest judges include celebrity food writer Rachel Khoo, Mad About The House author Kate Watson-Smyth, interior design duo Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead of 2LG Studio, the founder of Mr & Mrs Smith hotels Tamara Lohan and founder of The Balcony Gardener Isabelle Palmer.

Judging will take place on Monday 18 June in the exclusive and luxurious Lecture Room & Library at Sketch, London's most instagrammable design hotspot and restaurant.
