Black Friday 2019: the best homeware deals and discounts, from lighting and home tech to sofas and bedding

Sharpen your elbows and save a packet on your Christmas gift list with the best of this year's Black Friday deals.

The bargain baggers’ big shopping day of the year is Black Friday. This year it’s on November 29, with Cyber Monday, for many online offers, on December 2 and some sales already under way.

Amazon has “hundreds of thousands” of offers this year from today. “Lightning deals” have countdowns, others are one-day wonders. Visit Amazon’s Home of Black Friday pop-up to check deals, try products and join workshops (The Arches, 26 Leake Street, SE1).

John Lewis has a “price-match” promise and a dedicated web page, as does Currys. Some Currys “why wait” offers are already live.

Argos has deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Sign up with your favourite retailers to get email information on latest deals or download their apps, and follow them on Twitter.

Martin Lewis at MoneySavingExpert.com which is posting deals and warning of duds, says: “Black Friday can be addictive. Don’t get caught up in the hype, buy only what you can afford, and always compare prices.”

Liberty, W1, has up to 30 per cent reductions from Nov 26 to Dec 2. Debenhams (334-348 Oxford Street, W1; Westfield, Clapham, Wimbledon and Wandsworth) has half-price selected homewares on Nov 29, for example, Christmas double duvet set, £27.50.

Habitat started its sale yesterday, with up to 44 per cent, including £480 off a velvet sofa and £300 off an LED chandelier. Stores are in W1, NW3 and Westfield White City.

At very.co.uk find up to 40 per cent off 1,800 brands including Adidas, Apple and Samsung.

At BHS lighting online the Black Friday deal is 25 per cent off everything and 30 per cent on Cyber Monday.

Online electrical retailer ao.com already has £150 off some food mixers, including Kitchen Aid, with £100 off some vacuum cleaners.

Robert Dyas deals from Friday include half-price offers on tech/smart home, gifts and decs, for example Swan slow cooker, £14.99 (robertdyas.co.uk and multiple stores).

Design store twentytwentyone (N1 and EC1) has up to 20 per cent off from Nov 28 and from the same date at Heal’s in W1 get 10 per cent off everything, with special deals at 30 per cent off.

Down from £790 to £540: this dining table and four chairs at Habitat

Andrew Martin interiors (Walton Street, SW3) is already cutting up to 70 per cent. The Sheridan bed linen sale starts Monday (King’s Road, SW3).

Furniture Village (New Malden, Croydon, South Ruislip, Friern Barnet and Orpington) has 40 to 50 per cent off beds, sofas and dining sets, now until Dec 2. Get a Hypnos king-size pocket sprung divan for half price (£999).

There’s 15 per cent off everything at Sofa.com from Nov 27 to Dec 2, with some models half price (stores in Chelsea, Islington and Bankside).

Bedding specialists Dormeo (showroom in High Wycombe) has up to 60 per cent off, throwing in a free duvet worth £40 and a free pillow worth £39.99, from Nov 26 to Dec 2. A Which? best buy memory foam mattress is £249 (was £629.99). Also check out online deals at nectarsleep.co.uk from Monday.

Swoon, selling chic designer furniture has 25 per cent off everything until 2 December, plus clearance models up to 70 per cent off. For example, best-selling brass-faced Ziggy sideboard, £486 (was £649).

Woolroom, selling UK handcrafted beds and bedding has 35-40 per cent off everything, now until Dec 2. A wool duvet is £64.93 (was £99.99).

Bob Geldof, Kate Moss and Princess Eugenie have decorated Sky Ocean Rescue reusable bottles selling at half-price (£12.50), plus totes (£7.50) and cups (£8.75) from Nov 28-Dec 3. Sofology will plant a tree for every sofa sold from Nov 29-Dec 8.
