This year’s Britain’s Got Talent audition stages came to a jam-packed finish on Saturday night.

A handful of acts - including singers, dancers and magicians - became the final hopefuls through to the next round and a 10-year-old with dreams of starring in the West End was among them.

Souparnika Nair, from Bury St. Edmunds, nervously made her way on the Palladium stage and introduced herself before launching into an adorable rendition of The Trolley Song, performed by Judy Garland in Meet Me in St. Louis.

However, Simon Cowell wasn’t too impressed and asked the youngster to stop singing.

“I loved you, I didn’t love the song,” he told Nair, asking her to instead perform Never Enough from The Greatest Showman - which went down a treat with the panel and audience.

“You absolutely nailed it,” Cowell, 60, told her, before David Walliams added: “That is a mountain of a song and you conquered it.”

Amanda Holden said: “It's quite an old fashioned voice you've got which I love. You hit every single note, well done."

"I cannot get my head around the fact that you're 10-years-old, standing up there like a little professional,” Alesha Dixon concluded.

Nair then received four yeses as her proud parents looked on from the wings.

The 2020 BGT live shows have been postponed amid the coronavirus crisis and will instead take place later this year.
