The gorgeous Chateau de la Motte-Husson is the focal point of Channel 4 series, Escape to the Chateau.

Couple Dick Strawridge and Angel Adoree bought the 18th-century Chateau in 2015, and have been renovating it as part of their TV show ever since.

With a huge 45 rooms, the castle, in Pays de la Loire, near Nantes in France, has more than enough room for Dick, Angel, their two children Dorothy and Arthur, as well as Angel's parents.

So do they rent the remaining rooms out to visitors and holidaymakers? Here’s what you need to know:

Can I stay at Chateau de la Motte-Husson?

Short answer: yes.

The longer answer is that there are many different options for those who wish to stay at the chateau.

The website for the Chateau de la Motte-Husson advertises ‘elegant vintage weddings’, although weddings tend to be booked up years in advance.

If you’d rather visit as a guest, there is an option of glamping in the land surrounding the chateau.

Coronavirus had halted this year’s bookings, although the chateau is beginning to open up and accept new visitors again.

How much does it cost to stay at the Escape to the Chateau property?

Many different packages are offered to brides, grooms and their guests, but you can expect to pay a minimum of £5,850 for use of the chateau and some rooms.

Speaking on This Morning, Angel said they spend the proceeds from each booking wisely, saying: “Each wedding we got booked in we allocated it to a sink or a bathroom.”

The couple recently installed geodesic domes for glamping. Described as ‘chateau under the stars’, the domes cost £350 per night, with a choice of the Floating or Land Dome, which can accommodate up to four adults and two children.
