The Lions are relaxing and recovering ahead of this Saturday’s series decider in Auckland.

Having defeated New Zealand in Wellington on Saturday, the tourists have retreated to Queenstown, a popular tourist destination on New Zealand’s south island, to regroup.

The Lions had always planned to visit the ski resort in Central Otago but with the Test series in the balance, they have taken a different approach to the party town.

The squad blew off some steam at a squad celebration last night but will have a low-key few days before they fly to Auckland on the north island on Wednesday.

Lions coach Graham Rowntree has called on lock Alun Wyn Jones to repeat last Saturday’s performance in the Third Test.

Jones put in a brilliant display as the Lions won 24-21 and Rowntree said: “I am pleased for Alun Wyn. He is in the engine room and then there’s his lineout work, too.

“I was pleased with his performance [last Saturday] and it was appropriate we brought on Courtney Lawes at the right time. Alun Wyn had put in a big shift.”
