Palace can still push on, says Danns

Crystal Palace midfielder Neil Danns is determined to derail former club Birmingham's promotion push.

The Blues are vying with Wolves and Reading for a swift return to the Premier League but the Eagles have ambitions of their own.

Palace have two games in hand on most of the top six and are desperate for a win following Saturday's defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.

Danns - who spent 18 months at St Andrews before quitting for Selhurst Park last January - said: "Birmingham have probably got the best squad in the league but it's just 11 players on the pitch and they are only human.

"We'll give everything we've got and if we can win, it puts us right back in it. Doncaster and Bristol City have shown what can happen if you put a run of results together and we're probably in a better position than them because we' ve got games in hand. No-one can count us out of the play-offs yet."
