Tottenham know more about their nightmare start to the season after the Premier League fixtures for the new campaign were confirmed on Thursday morning.
Arsenal’s FA Cup victory at the end of last season has left Spurs facing an even busier start to what is already set to be the most congested club season in history, as they’re forced to squeeze a Europa League qualifying campaign in amongst the early rounds of the EFL Cup and Premier League fixtures.
In all, Spurs could play as many as nine games in the first 22 days of the season, including, on multiple occasions, two in the space of 48 hours.
Jose Mourinho’s men begin with a home league fixture against Everton on September 12, before facing a Europa League second qualifying round tie on September 17 and then Southampton away on the following weekend.

Presuming Spurs have progressed in Europe, they would then be set to play a third qualifying round tie on Thursday, September 24, just two days after the third round of the EFL Cup.
If they are successful in both competitions, they would face a similar schedule the following week, with games on September 29 (EFL Cup Round 4) and October 1 (Europa League playoffs).
Those meetings would come after a weekend Premier League clash with Newcastle and be directly succeeded by a trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United.
