Jamie Redknapp considers Ryan Giggs to be “every inch the Manchester United manager” after the Welshman oversaw United’s biggest home win of the season in his first game in charge as interim boss.
Speaking to Sky Sports in his role as a pundit, Redknapp said: “If it was an audition for Ryan Giggs, it couldn't have been better, from yesterday at the press conference to today on the touchline.
”'He looked every inch the Manchester United manager to me. I don't know what the plans are but the fans will want him.”
And former Old Trafford favourite Dwight Yorke echoed Redknapp’s comments but did acknowledge United were not at full tilt in the first half.
Yorke said: “I think it's been an outstanding debut for him, the first half wasn't great, but they came out second half and took the game by the scruff of the neck.”
The leading candidates to replace David Moyes at United
United have so far refused to speculate on who they are looking at as a permanent replacement for David Moyes with three games against Sunderland, Hull and Southampton still to play this season.
