Liverpool have received a quadruple fitness boost just over a week out from the start of the new Premier League season.

Jordan Henderson, Joel Matip and Divock Origi were all pictured in training on Thursday afternoon having overcome recent injuries.

And, while he did not feature in photographs taken at Melwood, Standard Sport understands that Xherdan Shaqiri also took part in the session.

Henderson and Matip have both been out since sustaining knee and foot injuries respectively toward the back end of the last campaign.

Origi and Shaqiri, meanwhile, have been battling minor issues picked up during the Reds' recent pre-season training camp in Austria.

However, it appears that all four players will be fit and firing in time for first league game of 2020-21 - the visit of newly promoted Leeds United to Anfield.

They look set to be joined by Trent Alexander-Arnold and Harry Wilson, who also missed out on the trip to Austria as a result of injury.

The pair have proven their fitness by reporting for international duty with England and Wales respectively ahead of this week's Nations League fixtures.
