Kai Havertz insists he does not want to "mess up" his relationship with Bayer Leverkusen by talking about the prevalent speculation regarding his future.

The German - who has scored six goals and provided three assists in his past six Bundesliga appearances - has been linked with a number of high-profile names of late, including Premier League duo Manchester United and Liverpool.

Following his emphatic double on the Bundesliga's return last week, Havertz added another brace to his impressive tally in a 4-1 demolition of Werder Bremen on Saturday, Leverkusen's second win from two since the Bundesliga's return.

Leverkusen are reportedly insistent they will not let the 20-year-old wonderkid leave for less than €100million (£89million), while Havertz is refusing to acknowledge the barrage of rumours.

After Saturday's match, Havertz was asked to comment on the recent speculation, of which he told Sky Sports: "I do not like to say, of course, that there is a lot of speculation.

"I'm concentrating on this season and will see what happens afterwards. I am very grateful to Leverkusen and I don't want to mess it up in any way."

Of the game, Havertz added: We're happy about the win. We put it on ourselves to win here and we did that.

"We had to really give everything today and I think we deserved to win in the end."
