Defender Sam Hutchinson leaves Chelsea in time to face Charlton

Chelsea defender Sam Hutchinson joined Sheffield Wednesday on a month’s loan today and is in line to make his debut against Charlton tomorrow.

The Championship side have also agreed a temporary deal for Blackburn striker Leon Best, who could feature in the fifth-round tie at Hillsborough.

Hutchinson and Best have been signed as the club have a number of injuries. They are also keen to bring back Connor Wickham, who was recalled from his loan spell by Sunderland last month.

Caolan Lavery, who scored twice as a sub against Leeds last month, could make a rare start tomorrow.
