Colin Montgomerie guarantees Ryder Cup passion

Aidan Parr13 April 2012

Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie has vowed to inject the passion back in to Europe's challenge at Celtic Manor next week.

Europe's run of three successive wins came to a shuddering halt at Valhalla under Sir Nick Faldo two years ago.

And Montgomerie said today: "Last time around there did not seem to be the passion. But I can guarantee there will be passion this time.

"I will assemble everyone in the team room on Monday night and there will be so much passion in that team room that everyone will leave shaking."

Montgomerie expects the spark to come from vice-captains Darren Clarke and Paul McGinley who "all live for this European tour".
