Ewan is a West End Guy
Star Wars actor Ewan McGregor is making his West End musical debut in a new production of Guys And Dolls.
The revival of the Fifties' show will see McGregor, 33, play the lead role of Sky Masterson, the chronic gambler who falls in love with a missionary.
McGregor's last stage appearance was in 1999, when he starred at the Comedy Theatre in Little Malcolm And His Struggle Against The Eunuchs.
The Trainspotting actor danced and sang in Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge with Nicole Kidman, but this will be his first stage singing role.
Sky Masterson was immortalised by Marlon Brando in the 1955 Hollywood movie, which also starred Jean Simmons and Frank Sinatra.
The production will open with the Scottish Hollywood star in late spring next year, at a West End venue which is yet to be confirmed.
The musical will be directed by the artistic director of the Donmar Warehouse, Michael Grandage, who succeeded Sam Mendes at the London theatre.
McGregor signed up after Grandage agreed to put the musical back to a later date to accommodate his filming schedule.
It will be the first new production of Frank Loesser's classic musical in London for 23 years.
