The wife of Dave Myers has paid tribute to the Hairy Bikers star following his death aged 66.

The TV chef was diagnosed with cancer in 2022 and had been keeping fans updated in a series of emotional TV specials, the latest of which aired on Wednesday evening.

His best friend and co-star Si King confirmed his passing on Thursday morning, with his nearest and dearest later sharing their own tributes.

Myers’ wife of almost 13 years, Liliana Orzac, hailed Myers as her “brave man” in a post on Facebook.

Alongside three images of the beloved star, Liliana, a coach and hypnotherapist, wrote: “Rest in peace, my love. My wonderful, brave man! Till next time we meet!”

She also changed her cover photo to a picture of a single solitary candle burning in darkness as a poignant memorial to her spouse.

Myers and Liliana first met while filming Hairy Bikers in Romania. They were married in 2011 in his hometown in Barrow, Cumbria and he became a stepfather to her two children, Iza and Sergiu, from a previous relationship.

He spoke about how important Liliana’s support had been to him throughout his cancer battle during a Hairy Bikers special last Christmas.

“A lot of the credit has to also go to my wife, she's been there through it all with me from the start,” he said.

“It's absolutely vital and I feel really sad for those people who have to go through it on their own.

Adding: “It impacts on the family. It's so difficult for my wife and family you know, that not knowing, your future is completely turned upside down.”
