Model turned actress Emily Ratajkowski claims she is looking for roles that do not focus on her looks — although she would not say no to being a Bond girl.

She found fame after appearing topless in Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines video, before making her big screen debut in Gone Girl with Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike.

Ratajkowski said she was looking forward to taking more acting roles after finishing shooting We Are Your Friends with Zac Efron — and would not rule out starring in a James Bond film.

“A Bond girl — that’s an amazing legacy to be part of,” she said. “But really for right now especially, I’d rather do parts that aren’t about my body or anything to do with modelling. I’d really like to be able to show my acting skills.”

Ratajkowski, 23, said she was not always confident about her body, explaining: “I developed really early before a lot of girls in my school. It was embarrassing but I had a mother who said I shouldn’t apologise for my sexuality or body even when it made people feel uncomfortable because I was so young.”

The video for Blurred Lines, which featured naked women dancing around fully dressed men, faced claims of misogyny.

Ratajkowski, who was in London this week to promote the DVD release of Gone Girl, said feminism “means celebrating and feeling empowered by my sexuality rather than being exploited by it”.

She added: “It’s an important thing for women to feel empowered because there’s such a strange culture of suppressing sexuality in a really weird way, so as a model that’s been important to me.”
