Beyoncé’s representative appeared to hit out after Erykah Badu criticised the artwork for her upcoming country album.

The singer’s longtime publicist, Yvette Schure, did not mince her words as she leapt to defend the mother-of-three.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, she shared a reel featuring a montage of Beyoncé sporting braided hairstyles throughout her career.

“She slays. She slays. Now. Then. Always,” she penned, followed by the hashtag “critics without credentials”.

It came after singer-songwriter Badu had taken to her own social media accounts in apparent criticism after Beyoncé shared the artwork for Act II: Cowboy Carter.

In the image, Beyoncé can be seen posing naked wearing just a sash.

“Act II Beyincé” is emblazoned across a white piece of material on the sash, which features red and blue hems.

The Texas Hold’em hit-maker’s hair is styled in braids with red and white beds hanging from her fringe.

She appears to be posing like the Statue of Liberty, with a lit marijuana cigarette in one hand.

Badu, 53, reshared the image on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, writing “Hmmm”.

The singer appeared to be alluding to the fact she is known for wearing braided styles with beads on her fringe also.

She then took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and addressed a tweet to Beyoncé’s producer husband Jay-Z.

“To Jay Z. Say somethin Jay. You gone let this woman and these bees do this to me??” she wrote, followed by a laughing emoji.
