Ascot, the small Berkshire town with a big profile, is firmly in the spotlight this week as its world-famous racecourse, decked out Jubilee bunting, welcomes the Queen as the Diamond Jubilee celebrations continue. Thousands of racegoers will be enjoying this prestigious annual event that has long been at the top of the social calendar.
Just an hour from London by train, this commuter hot spot also has plenty to offer its residents all year round - acres of open parkland, excellent schools and a bustling high street with independent shops and thriving cafés.
