Hot homes: under £300,000 in Wapping

We take a property tour to find riverside apartments, shared-ownership flats and starter homes for first-time buyers. By Kristy Gray
Homebuyers seeking affordable flats within easy reach of the City are discovering historic Wapping. This riverside neighbourhood, now plugged into London Overground’s orbital route, is within a frequent 10-minute commute from Canary Wharf and less than 15 minutes by train from Liverpool Street.

Wapping’s famous old-fashioned pubs and its choice of lovely restaurants — many lined up along Wapping’s cobbled high street — give the area a distinct buzz, as do the sightseeing visitors who flock there at weekends.
