Hot homes: Vauxhall

By Kristy Gray
Vauxhall river view
Many of Vauxhall's riverside homes have stunning views towards Westminster
Vauxhall is best known as one of the main "gateways" to central London, with its busy roads transporting thousands of the capital's workforce across the river and into the heart of the capital every day.

But this well-located district is also sitting on the edge of central London's largest and exciting regeneration zones - the 480-acre Nine Elms Site - stretching from Battersea Power Station to Lambeth Bridge.

This new stretch of London's South Bank is being transformed into a brand new business district with 16,000 more homes and vast green spaces, and plans for two much-anticipated new Tube stations in the pipeline.

Vauxhall's centre will be boosted too, with plans for a new high street, town square, river walks and a choice of new contemporary homes.

We get ahead of the action and take a property tour to find waterside apartments and period conversions within walking distance of Westminster and the Houses of Parliament.
