Fassett Square in Dalston inspired the design of fictional Albert Square in popular TV soap EastEnders
Dalston is achingly cool. This vibrant north-east London quarter is home to some of the capital’s most exciting pop-up restaurants, art galleries, live music venues and lively bars.

And despite close competition from cutting-edge neighbouring districts — Shoreditch, Hoxton, Hackney and London Fields — this area is rapidly becoming a homes hotspot.

A recent £1.3 million facelift of the main shopping street and improved rail links plugging Dalston Junction and Dalston Kingsland stations into the capital’s rail and Tube networks mean that this arty, fashionable corner of London is attracting plenty of young home buyers.

We take a property tour to discover period homes and new-build flats to suit buyers on all budgets.
