H&P shortlisted at property awards

Homes & Property and its top writers have been announced as shortlisted finalists in the LSL Property Press Awards, says Kristy Gray
The LSL Property Press Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of property journalists throughout the UK. Selected by a panel of property industry experts, Homes & Property is a finalist in the category of National Newspaper Property Supplement of the Year.

More than 700,000 free copies are distributed with the London Evening Standard every Wednesday, with an official readership of more than 1.5 million readers.

Many of the supplement’s regular contributing writers have also been nominated as finalists, including David Spittles and Ruth Bloomfield in the category of National Freelance Journalist of the Year, while abroad writer Cathy Hawker is in the running for International Property Journalist of the Year.

Ruth Bloomfield also features as a finalist in the Sustainable/Environmental Property Journalist of the Year category, and the London Evening Standard writer Peter Bill has been selected as a finalist for Property Columnist of the Year.

Mira Bar-Hillel, a regular Evening Standard journalist is up for the Property Scoop of the Year, for revealing the contents of a private letter written by Prince Charles to Evening Standard readers outlining his opposition to the initial design plans for London's Chelsea Barracks site.

Winners will be announced on Monday, March 21 at a champagne reception at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Knightsbridge, attended by the cream of UK property journalists from national, provincial and trade press.
