One Direction receive a JLS housewarming gift

Harry Styles and Zayn Malik are not the only One Direction singers to invest in property. Niall Horan, right, has bagged a £2.2 million north London bachelor pad.

He bought the house from Marvin Humes, singer with boyband JLS, as Humes and his wife Rochelle Wiseman, above, of girl group The Saturdays, are expecting their first baby and are looking for a family home. However, Humes couldn’t resist leaving behind a personalised housewarming gift for his rival in the pop charts: a cushion with Horan’s face on it.

The 19-year-old One Direction singer still has some growing up to do. He has revealed that he rents a separate home in the capital for his Irish mother so that she can visit the busy boy to do his laundry.

Robbie's ready to pitch up in Blighty

At his recent 02 concert Robbie Williams told the audience he was “back and not going anywhere”.

And the pop king, 38, who is playing Wembley Stadium on June 29 and 30 and July 2, is putting his money where his mouth is by looking for a home in Holland Park or Chelsea to bring his American actress wife Ayda Field and their new daughter Theodora Rose, known as Teddy.

He has put the 4,660sq ft Los Angeles house where the couple married on the market for £2.2 million. The five-bedroom, five-bathroom mansion comes with a separate guesthouse and canyon views. Williams is even willing to leave the football pitch he created in the grounds.

Will Lampard give Chelsea the boot?

Frank Lampard is hot property on the football field. Clubs including Monaco, LA Galaxy and China’s Guizhou Renhe are keen to have him on their side after he leaves Chelsea next month.

But a move could not come at a worse time in one respect for the midfielder, 34, and TV presenter fiancée Christine Bleakley, as they have just finished installing a cinema, swimming pool and a gym at their south-west London home.

The couple have also been involved in the conversion of a two-storey clothing warehouse into a four-storey house in Uverdale Road near Chelsea FC. Lampard is said to own 12 properties worth a total of £23 million — and will presumably add number 13 to the portfolio if he ventures abroad.

After twelve years design guru leaves her watery habitat

Design guru Polly Dickens is selling her Dutch-built barge, moored at Canary Wharf, for £295,000. Dickens, who spent much of her career working alongside Terence Conran, is Habitat’s creative director, so it is little wonder that Klasina, made in 1927, is super-stylish. Ninety feet long and 15ft wide, it comes with three en suite bedrooms, a funky living and dining space and a fully-fitted kitchen.

Dickens and her furniture designer husband Mark Gilbey gutted and rebuilt the barge over the last 12 years, living aboard full time for five years. But they have decided to move back to their house in Whitechapel, which has been rented out.

If the idea of taking to the water floats your boat email marktgilbey@gmail.com or visit klasina.com.
