Homes gossip: James Bond; Agyness Deyn; Zara Phillips and Victoria Pendleton

Daniel Craig

Star in the famous location - a glamorous Chelsea square

Royal Avenue, fictional home of James Bond, is a star-rated address in SW3, and for those attracted to the limelight there is a Grade II-listed, seven-bedroom period property for sale for £4.95 million.

This historic Chelsea square has been home to Pre-Raphaelite artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti, who rented number 36 for his mistress Fanny Cornforth, and, more recently, to British artist Bernard Stern, who lived at number 18, as did celebrated architect Richard Rogers.

Movies filmed there include The Servant and A Clockwork Orange. I wonder if Daniel Craig, starring in Skyfall, the latest James Bond blockbuster, out in October, fancies returning to his character’s roots?

Zara and Victoria rough it for glory

As the Games kick off all eyes are on the Olympic Village (right), hosting the likes of Usain Bolt, Rebecca Adlington and cyclist Victoria Pendleton. But the living arrangements will surely come as a culture shock to some of the celebrity athletes.

The tiny “apartments” will be enlarged and revamped in time for new residents next year but for now the Olympians’ conditions will be pretty modest — more student halls than five-star living, with some of the world’s most famous sportsmen and women sharing kitchens and lounges.

Horsewoman Zara Phillips — the Queen’s granddaughter — will be a world away from the comforts of her £800,000 three-storey townhouse in Cheltenham, while football’s Ryan Giggs must already be missing his Manchester mansion. The Team GB football captain’s six-bedroom property consists of an indoor swimming pool, private gym and steam room.

Here’s hoping team spirit comes into play so that our sports stars stay happy.

William Cash's Holland Park home

Cash in on a smart address

Society figure and journalist William Cash is selling his Holland Park home (right) for £1.95 million. The editor-in-chief of wealth management publication Spears has listed his spacious flat in Addison Crescent with Clabon Estates (020 7823 4025, clabonestates.com).

The property features a generously sized double reception room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, study, private entrance and parking for two cars. It is the perfect pad for entertaining.

The son of Conservative MP Bill Cash, he has kept the apartment in peak condition. A smart investment indeed.

Looking out for a model love nest

This year's surprise celebrity wedding award goes to British supermodel Agyness Deyn and her American actor husband Giovanni Ribisi. The couple, who tied the knot in a low-key Los Angeles ceremony last month, are building their future together by making new property plans.

Deyn, who received fine reviews for her acting debut in the West End earlier this year, sold her vintage-inspired New York loft in February for £1.3 million.

And now Ribisi, whose latest film, Ted, is released on August 1, is selling his 1,600sq ft bachelor pad in Silver Lake, LA, for £632,000. The pair will soon move to a large love nest in the Atwater Village area of California.
