Goldie and Kurt leave the beach

Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell are determined to sell their Malibu beach house. The Hollywood couple have knocked £2.2 million off the asking price, putting it back on the market at £6.9 million. With magnificent sea views from the beachside balcony, the four-bedroom home also includes a cinema, bar, gym and a detached guest house.

Russell — who with Sacha Baron Cohen last week dropped out of the filming of Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained — and his glamorous 66-year-old wife moved out of the home to live in an LA mansion a few blocks from daughter Kate Hudson, her beau Matt Bellamy and their baby boy.

It's a twister in Elephant & Castle

Architects Julian and Cari-Jane Hakes set up their first design studio in a spare student room. More than a decade later, the creative couple still like keeping things close to home.

Their apartment in the Jam Factory in Elephant & Castle doubles as a dynamic work space. With a rooftop offering views of the London skyline, they need not travel far for style inspiration.

The SE1 pad is also the hub of Julian’s shoe business. The director of Hakes Associates has ventured from buildings and bridges into the world of fabulous footwear. His architecturally inspired Mojito shoe design has been such a hit at the London, Paris and New York fashion weeks that it has received pre-orders from Lady Gaga and Katy Perry (pictured).

Gary's pink palace is a Sussex shocker

Electro-pop pioneer Gary Numan has put his four-bedroom East Sussex cottage — decorated in shocking pink — on the market for £995,000 for a summer buyer wanting to enjoy acres of woodland and a home with a sweeping drive.

It’s an easy 60-minute commute to the capital from the mainline station in the historic town of Lewes. If you love bright colours, contact Strutt & Parker (01273 475 411; struttandparker.com). The singer, is playing London’s Bloc Festival on July 7.

Designer Tom's house flies off the shelf

Designer Tom Dixon is selling his Shepherd’s Bush home. The west London-based furniture guru, who was awarded an OBE for services to British Design in 2000, recently put his three-bedroom semi-detached house on the market for £949,950 (020 8996 6000, Foxtons.co.uk) and it is already under offer.

The property comes with a separate self-contained studio apartment in the back garden. Dixon has made his mark on London interiors with commissions ranging from those for Selfridges and Shoreditch House, to a recently converted water tower in Ladbroke Grove, which is now a three-storey cylindrical townhouse.
